Faith is the victory that overcomes the world. As Christians, our safety in this world lies in ever-increasing reliance and trust in our Heavenly Father. He’s our sustainer, comforter, and provider. The challenges of this world can push us to the wall and cause us to doubt God’s love for us but we should hold up to our faith and believe that regardless of the situation God is still in control and cares deeply for us, His Children.
O wretched man that I am!
Being a Christian is hard unless we accept by faith the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We have the whole Trinity on our side as we fight the evil one. Our God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble (Psalms 46:1). Jesus, who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes we were healed (1 Peter 2:24), is also with us. The Holy Spirit is our comforter and is there to teach us and direct us into all truth. (John 16:13).
Our Identity in Christ
As we look at Christ as our perfect example we are to solely rely on His merits and guidance to go by each day. We can do all through the strength that He gives us. (Philippians 4:13). We are to avoid dwelling on past negative experiences, have a positive outlook on life, feel confident in ourselves, see our overall strengths and weaknesses, and accept them.
The LORD God our Father
…you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father “(Romans 8:15) I’ve seen my father cry twice. Both instances are relevant to this topic but I’ll just focus on one. I’m from a humble background and therefore my parents have sacrificed a lot to put food on the table, care for, protect and give us good education. This sacrifice, through the grace of God, and also the hard work of my youngest sister made her perform very well in her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, KCPE, examinations. She became one of the top students in our home constituency, […]

God Remembers
When going through times of trouble and affliction, there is a temptation to think that your connection with God has been cut off. When we wander far away from the presence of our God, we lose the connection we had with God. The distance is perceived from the human point of view. Our God however is even nearer than before; our salvation is nearer than we first believed. Our God is in the business of saving souls and daily is seeking us; yearning to commune with us. In our walk of salvation, God does not require us to give up […]
Wait on the Lord
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint. – Isaiah 40:31 Patience is listed as one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. This implies that on our own, we may not fully embrace this virtue. It is a virtue that when fully integrated into someone’s life can lead them to have a better relationship with God. Our prayers and requests to God may take long to be answered in our human eyes. However, we should […]
God is Faithful
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God Romans 3:23 We live in a world where we face daily temptations and challenges. Sometimes we fall into these pitfalls and go against God’s will. This is not a new occurrence to mankind but has been in existence since the fall of man as described in Genesis 3. Sin is described as the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4 ). Throughout man’s existence, human beings have committed sin. What is however constant, is God’s presence. He is always near us and ready to help us overcome whatever circumstances […]
God’s not ‘Logical’
The invention of computers has created a global village where information access is almost everywhere. Computers process data based on logical decisions that have been programmed in them. Our God we serve on the other hand doesn’t work with what is apparent in our human understanding. The bible reminds us that God’s thoughts and ways are way higher than ours; just like the heavens are from earth (Isaiah 55:9) The bible is full of examples of situations in which one would assume God was acting contrary to His directives. These actions prove that sometimes we may not understand God’s intentions […]
Am I Good Enough?
In the world of farming, plants are identified and differentiated long before they are planted. During the growth period, they develop into full-grown plants to serve the purpose they were intended. Plants produce fruits because they have the ability to do so. No one waits for the avocado tree to mature before they can conclude that indeed it was an avocado tree. And no one, who planted maize will wait for the harvest time to conclude that it was maize but not sorghum that was planted. We are not Christians by the good works or acts we do, but we are […]
