God is the source of life and light and joy to the universe. Like rays of light from the sun, like the streams of water bursting from a living spring, blessings flow out from Him to all His creatures. And wherever the life of God is in the hearts of men, it will flow out to others in love and blessing
Steps to Christ
“No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light – Luke 8:16. The light is the word of God. It is also the Love of God that will flow from a believer to those around them. When this love is in a person they will be eager to tell others about Jesus. They will be eager to live as He did and reflect this love to others.
When the love of Christ is enshrined in the heart, like sweet fragrance it cannot be hidden. Its holy influence will be felt by all with whom we come in contact.
Steps to Christ
When man had fallen deep in sin God Himself came down to their level so that He can regain that which was lost. Christ came to the earth through a humble birth. He followed a path of self-denial all the way from the manger to Calvary. He toiled with persistent, earnest, and untiring effort for the salvation of lost mankind. (Matthew 20:28). In the same way, we are to run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author, and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2).
Love for Jesus will be manifested in a desire to work as He worked for the blessing and uplifting of humanity. It will lead to love, tenderness, and sympathy towards all the creatures of our heavenly Father’s care.
Are you working in the Lord’s vineyard? are you going on God’s errands are you sharing in Christ with others? Do you remember the great commission? ( Mathew 28:18-20) That ought to be the life purpose of every Christian. In your small or large way do in the course of God.
As His representatives among men, God does not choose angels who have never fallen, but human beings, men of like passions with those they seek to save. Christ took humanity that He might reach humanity. A divine-human Saviour was needed to bring salvation to the world. And to men and women has been committed the sacred trust of making known “the unsearchable riches of Christ.” Ephesians 3:8.
Acts of Apostles P. 134
Picture this scene, Jesus goes back to heaven after His earthly ministry, and perhaps He meets angel Gabriel and Gabriel asks “has the message reached the whole world?” And Jesus says no I have left my chosen twelve. They are feeble men but by my word and spirit, they will put salvation within the reach of all.
And in that way, the message is reached us today and we ought to share it with others.
God might have committed the message of the gospel, and all the work of loving ministry, to the heavenly angels. He might have employed other means for accomplishing His purpose. But in His infinite love He chose to make us co-workers with Himself, with Christ and the angels, that we might share the blessing, the joy, the spiritual uplifting, which results from this unselfish ministry.
Steps to Christ
God used Peter instead of angels to share the Gospel with Cornelius. (Acts 10:1-6). He also used Philip and not angels to explain the book of Isaiah to the Ethiopian Eunuch (Acts 8:26-40). Friends, we must be laborers together with God; for God will not complete His work without human agencies. (Review and Herald March 1, 1887)
Those who endeavor to maintain Christian life by passively accepting the blessings that come through the means of grace, and doing nothing for Christ, are simply trying to live by eating without working. And in the spiritual as in the natural world, this always results in degeneration and decay.
Steps to Christ
In our physical world, if you do not exercise your limbs you will lose all the power to use them, in the same way as a Christian when you don’t exercise your God-given powers to share the love of God you will not grow in Christ and even lose the strength you already had.
And may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
